Model S
The model S comes in now Long Range, Plaid, and Plaid+.
All models on the exterior look mostly the same
The base model S for a while started at $69k however when I checked hours before the refresh it was $63k. They must have changed the price days before.
Exterior
On the front bumper(the nose cone) there is a bigger air intake vent.
They removed all the chrome and exempted the Tesla logo so that it stands out more.
Has the lowest production car drag coefficient at 0.208. This allows it to be very aerodynamic and just slip through the air.
Below the rear bumper they adjusted it to be more aerodynamic
The proportions look awesome especially for the front nose cone.
Interior
Has the 17 inch horizontal touch screen that can tilt left to right. With 2200x1300 resolution, ultra bright, true colors, exceptional responsiveness.
Has the tri-zone climate control. For the front it has two for the passenger and driver and they are the one long vent style that you can control from the screen. One regular for the backseat.
Has the yoke steering wheel which has no top that is a little different from the roadster.
There are no stocks for turn signal, wipers, gear selector, and autopilot.
There are buttons on the steering wheel for these functions and also there are the knobs like the model 3 and y.
For the gear selector the car will predict if you want to go into drive, reverse, park, and neutral.
It will predict this by using sat nav, the camera, and the sensor.
It is also rumored that there will be force touch buttons for override. However it is confirmed that you can also override from the screen.
Seating for three adults, with extra legroom, headroom and a stowable armrest with integrated storage and wireless charging in the drop down armrest.
The Model 3 and the model y have a 14 speaker sound system which sounds so incredibly good however the model S has a 22 speaker system. Also this speaker system/. is going to use active noise cancellation which will reduce the road noise.
Packages
Long range
They stayed with the 18x650 batteries which are a little old and the model 3 and Y went to the more effective 21x70.
Even though they stayed with the battery tech the long range can go 412 miles per charge.
It starts at $74,000.
Plaid
This is basically the performance package however it starts at $114,490 however it goes 390 miles so it has the same battery as the long range model and it goes 200 mile an hour top speed and 1.99 second 0-60.
Plaid+
It starts at $134,490 and it goes 520+ miles on a charge, 200 mile and hour top speed, and less than 1.99 mile an hour top speed.
Since it goes so far it is rumored to have the 46x80 because it is going to ship at the end of this year.
